I was in My third year bcom at BMCC Pune, we use to do lot of Hindi street plays then, bocz I was then Not so comfortable with marathi language, so I use to take hindi or multilingual street plays to comfort my self, hehehe!
We were lill famous among the bmcc crowd Thanks to some of good street plays and events, Once I was passing from a collage corridor after a sutta and chai, I was walking towards my hostel, suddenly a group of boys stopped me, One of them said, "bhaiyya hum log ek street play karr rahen hain, aap aake dekhiye our hame batae yeh ki play acha hai ki nahi" they were all NCC guyz with lot of discipline and were studying in 11th, 12th may be some of them 1st and 2nd year bcom, I went to there practice and within 10 minutes I got bored and I started walking out side, I was bit rude to them, but cant help u know,
One of them came and said ‘bhai acha nahi laga aapko’, i said “NO”, and the reaction of that boy was inspiring and astonishing too, they said "bhaiyya abhi sirf 4 din hai ahemdabad jaaneke liye aap hame guide kijiye" I said if u guyz want my help then forget whatever u guyz have done, tomorrow morning 8 clock we will meet here with the new script, they were not hesitant, they accepted it, I went to hostel and started thinking on the subject, the subject was Communal harmony Not so difficult for an Indian, wrote whole night, everything was fine the lay out the structure everything was visible But in some corner I had a feeling that I am missing the soul of a street play, But as promised I went to them at 8 o clock we started practicing they had some percussionists tabalaz harmony wala some dancers, they only choreographed one instrumental opening Bit, the whole story was set in two days, But my heart was beating twice the speed,
Since I was in search of The “SOUL” in that frustration if some one does a silly mistake he or she wont be blessed with a smile, even I have beaten up some chaps, we finished our 2nd day practice still I was not having the soul, That night was one hell of the night in my life, I huffed and puffed until morning 5 o clock I had many scratches but no Content, at 5 Eureka happened,
“Rudra hoon visha ChoD madhuki
Kaamana may Q karungaa
Dechukaa hoon PraaNa kitani baar
Jagaka traaNa karane
Fir bhala vidhwanski
KaTu kalpana may Q karunga
Rudra hoon……………………………………”
I am not writing here whole song, this song is related our every Indian every Great soul which is living and lived for India, I had given one strict Advice to those kids that “Aap log pura play kaise karoge nahi pata, But play ke anta may iss gaane ko Dil dimaag dhairya our ek khanTase gaana hoga agar aisa karenge to he muze khushi hogi” I had repeated this statement for infinite time, and they finished there rehearsals here in pune and showed it to some NCC Brigadier he also appreciated it, I was also present there, was lill happy too, and guyz left to Ahemadabad next day I bin to station and did bye, bye wished luck, they reached Ahemadabad and they had some 4 days of time to practice it before final competition, I know they had practiced every inch of our play very well,
Here in pune I was busy with my daily routine and after I week I think, in my collage they have received a phone call from Ahemadabad saying kids have won 2nd place in entire INDIA, a national award by president of India, Ahemadabad team has won first place and kerala team has won Third place, hahahaha! I was laughing and said to god “kuch jyada nahi huva?” and I wont forget that incident in my entire life.
I dun know how inspiring story is this, but this incident gave me so much confidence that it wont last for a lifetime.
Thank you
